Very comfortable room. Clean fresh linen on the bed. Clean white towels. Standard bathroom but clean with bath and shower.
Outdated former glory building that could be an outstanding hotel once is properly revamped and actualised. Staff is friendly and atmosphere relaxed, even though do not expect luxuries. Bathrooms are old and tacky. But the building is amazing and prices are reasonable. Ok for what you get xx

Sunday lunch, 3 courses for £10...deliciously home cooked grub. Limited menu but what they do they do very well indeed. Lovely friendly pub with lots of entertainment, live bands and family fun days on regularly.

Well the rooms are nice, everything is good including the service, I just don't like the idea of having to leave the hotel to go to the other side just to get food
Very lovely apartments and I was surprised how big it actually was. Reasonable price. Lovely will come back to use again when we do a few days at Alton Towers again :)

I went to this pub with mum to have dinner. The staff are friendly and the service is effient, the menu is something different from the conventional pub food and I'd recommend this place to anyone. I will also add that what you order is value for your money! Love it here!
pop in for a Sunday evening meal as home kichen had been strip out ready for a new one. Food was good well presented i had a mixed grill personally did not like the chicken had no flavour all the rest was good. Girlfriend had Sweet n Sour chicken was good. waiting time was a little long and their were not many people in their. Staff were nice and helpful. so will go back. Prices were very reasonable.

Attended a wake at this public house, excelant buffet and service, would recommend for the same or christenings etc lovely decor? outside seating area, just perfect.
Good "pub grub" food. Very friendly staff. What's not to like?

Excellent night spent here on the 19th I needed some peace & quite & time to do some final work on a presentation ready to launch a Film & Book project for Chatterley Whitfield Colliery (a local Scheduled Monument). All went well - got my work done & a healthy filling breakfast started the next day - the project as now been approved so it looks like there will be more visits & stays at the Victoria - Thanks Mandy & Mick for the welcome, the food & the chats. Stayed with Mick and Mandy a good many times over the years and very regularly refer others to them - my own experience has always been absolutely top notch and I've never heard anything negative by way of feedback from the various people I've referred to them, quite the reverse in fact. A hidden gem. Can't recommend highly enough!
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
